Luckily the NSA hasn't announced any plans to castrate U.S. citizens.

I know, to the point of exhaustion sometimes, I refer back to the state of emergency in India in 1975 but the same method was used in order to remove rights of its citizens. Indira Ghandi played to the people’s hearts with messages such as the existence of internal threats against the country, beautification of the country, and a better India for all. In turn, her fellow citizens were subjected to the absolute loss of their human rights and, in some instances, their dignity. Communities were destroyed, people were subjected to forced castration and sterilization, political opponents were jailed without trial, and people died. The emergency started slow with little movements here and there. Eventually it became something that the people couldn’t control.
